Gateway helps high school students move from school to work by combining real workplace experience with structured learning.

EarnLearn is responsible for workplace training in more than 20 industries. Through Gateway, the schools and EarnLearn together can build and maintain a pipeline of talented young people to keep these industries flourishing.

Gateway is perfect for senior high school students who are committed to taking the first steps into their career. It’s also a great opportunity for businesses to promote themselves to potential future staff, while educating them about the career options on offer.

Through the Gateway programme, EarnLearn works with its industries to:

How it works

Schools:

Schools enrol students into the Gateway programme with EarnLearn and cover the cost of the training. They also play an important role in supporting students to meet their training and assessment requirements, making sure learners stay on track and get the most out of the opportunity.

Employers taking on a student:

Employers provide the all-important workplace experience. They work with the school and student to agree on the best timing and schedule for on-site learning, then support the student in gaining practical skills while contributing to real work in their business.

EarnLearn:

EarnLearn ties everything together by providing course materials and pastoral care, managing enrolments and payments, and assigning an assessor. Our team offers guidance and support throughout the programme, ensuring students, schools, and employers all have what they need for a successful Gateway journey.
