What you get
Get structured support, clearer evidence steps, and regular check-ins so you can keep progressing through your training.
What you get
The first step is securing an employer. If you’re already working in one of our trades, you can approach your current employer to support your apprenticeship. Alternatively, you can use our TradieMatch platform to connect with potential employers.
Your apprenticeship combines on-job training and off-job learning. You’ll gain hands-on skills on site with a qualified tradesperson, while completing theory and assessments alongside your work. These run in parallel, allowing most apprentices to complete training in around three to five years, sometimes sooner.
Once you enrol, you’ll be assigned an EarnLearn Account Manager who supports you throughout your training. You’ll choose your preferred off-job training provider, access our online platform for on-job learning, and receive an information pack with everything you need to get started and stay on track.

EarnLearn supports employers, trainees and apprentices, and industry assessors across New Zealand. Our programmes are designed for people at different stages, from those just entering a trade, to experienced workers needing formal recognition, through to employers managing multiple trainees and compliance requirements.
We work closely with all parties involved in training to ensure expectations are clear, progress is visible, and outcomes are aligned with industry standards. Whether you are an employer trying to build capability, a trainee balancing work and study, or an assessor delivering quality assessment, our role is to provide structure, guidance, and consistency throughout the process.
EarnLearn delivers nationally recognised workplace-based training, apprenticeships, and assessment services across a range of trades and industries. This includes full training programmes as well as Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) pathways for people already working in their trade.
Our programmes are designed to be practical and industry-led. Learning and assessment are grounded in real workplace tasks, supported by structured learning resources, clear evidence requirements, and regular check-ins. This ensures training is relevant, achievable, and aligned with real job performance, not just theory.

EarnLearn acts as a training partner for employers, reducing the administrative and compliance burden that often comes with apprenticeships and workplace training. We help set up training pathways, manage learner progress, coordinate assessments, and provide reporting and guidance throughout the programme.
Employers receive visibility over progress, clear communication, and support navigating training requirements. Our approach is designed to fit around business operations, ensuring training supports productivity rather than disrupting it. We also provide guidance when learners need additional support or when workplace circumstances change.
Trainees receive structured support designed to help them succeed while working. This includes clear learning plans, access to learning materials, regular check-ins, and support with assessments and evidence collection.
We recognise that many learners are balancing work, study, and personal commitments. Our team helps break training into manageable steps, clarify expectations, and provide additional learning support when needed. The goal is to build confidence, capability, and steady progress, not just completion.
EarnLearn provides additional learning support for trainees who need help with literacy, numeracy, language, study skills, or assessment preparation. Support is practical, confidential, and tailored to individual needs.
This might include help understanding assessment requirements, breaking down written tasks, improving workplace documentation, or preparing for assessments. Early support is encouraged and does not disadvantage the learner. Our focus is on removing barriers so learners can demonstrate their skills effectively.
In addition to learning support, EarnLearn provides regular check-ins throughout the programme. Our Account Managers are based across New Zealand and work closely with both learners and employers to monitor progress, identify issues early, and provide guidance when it’s needed. This ongoing, hands-on support helps apprentices stay engaged, meet requirements, and ultimately get across the line.
